My journey to Huehuetenango, Guatemala, to establish a direct trade partnership with Vides58 was an unforgettable immersion into specialty coffee heritage. Walking through the high-altitude mountainsides and wet processing alongside the Vides family and staff, I witnessed firsthand the meticulous care that goes into producing their vibrant coffee. Cupping with the family revealed the brilliant notes that define the region's unique terroir. Beyond the exceptional quality of the bean, seeing their long-standing commitment to the community—particularly through the farm’s school and child labor prevention programs—solidified a partnership rooted not just in premium coffee, but in shared values and sustainable, ethical commerce.
